My goal was to see how well 2 coats of gardz would seal over wallpaper adhesive so that it would not become activated by the top coats of paint. I am thinking that the pva would give me a finished white surface to look for imperfections and a chance to repair before final paint.

Gardz is more of a sealer, with glue like consistency. You can make notes with your sharpened pencils, just don't poke me with them, i'm very sensitive.

Primer will help cover it up without spending a lot of time and money on expensive paint! I've used gardz many times, but usually in conjunction with sealing walls before and after skim coating.

Gardz is a latex primer that is formulated to go over damaged walls and wallpaper adhesive. So far it looks like it works well, but time will tell. It's clear and doesn't do much to prime.

Consider A Tinted Primer If Final Color Is Deep Or Bright.
